Terrorists may use different methodologies to conduct attacks within the United Kingdom.

These can include:

  • Marauding Terrorist Attack (for example with bladed weapon, firearm)
  • Vehicle as a weapon (by road, rail, aircraft)
  • Improvised Explosive Device (IED, possibly person or vehicle borne, or placed)
  • Fire as a Weapon
  • Chemical, Biological or Radiological attack
  • Other attack types (such as cyber attack or drones)

Some methodologies are more likely than others. A Marauding Terrorist Attack, with marauding attackers armed with a bladed or blunt force weapon, is generally the most likely attack methodology.
