The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has confirmed its attendance once again at this year’s Security & Policing Conference, taking place from 10-12 March at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.

Security & Policing is the UK Government’s flagship security event, hosted by the Home Office’s Joint Security & Resilience Centre (JSaRC) and brings together vetted professionals from across law enforcement, government, industry, and resilience sectors.

For the first time at this event, you will not only find NaCTSO in the Government Zone but also at its additional ‘NaCTSO Operations’ stand.

NaCTSO - Government Zone

The Business Engagement Team will be present within the Government Zone to discuss an array of matters with you. You will be able to:

  • learn how NaCTSO are protecting venues and public spaces across the UK
  • explore official resources via ProtectUK
  • discover the award-winning ACT Awareness e-Learning, the new ‘Act in a Box’ immersive exercise tool, and the CT Crime Prevention Toolkit
  • talk to the experts about the new Competent Person in the Workplace (CPIW) qualification and the Counter Terrorism Security Specialists Register (CTSSR)

NaCTSO Operations - Stand C143

This will be an additional stand providing a unique opportunity to discuss some of NaCTSO’s specialist operational capabilities.

Notably this will include experts from the National Vehicle Threat Mitigation Unit, who will be displaying a selection of the National Barrier Asset designed to mitigate and protect against a Vehicle as a Weapon (VAW) attack.

You will also have an opportunity to meet subject matter experts from units such as the Counter Weapons Threat Team, which is a specialist intelligence-led, counter terrorism capability, providing protective security mitigation advice against ‘standoff weapons’ that are typically launched or deployed at a distance.

The National Capability Assurance Unit (NCAU) provides capability assurance to the Senior National Co-Ordinator Protect and Prepare (SNC P&P) to ensure that Protect & Prepare capabilities are effective. NCAU also provides bespoke assurance tasks to Partner Agencies when required.

The Personal Security Unit provides specialist advice to individuals and delivery of The Blue Book: A Guide to Personal Security | ProtectUK

Spotlight speeches

NaCTSO will feature in two spotlight speeches as well as a keynote address, offering attendees the chance to be informed of critical updates and information from Counter Terrorism Policing.

A highlight will be a panel session taking place on day one; this will feature discussions around the latest and most significant news on the Competent Persons in the Workplace Qualification (CPIW) and Counter Terrorism Specialist Security Register (CTSSR).

Exact timings and session details will be published on the official visitor website within the next few weeks.
