ProtectUK publication date
Over the last financial year, ProtectUK, in collaboration with business partners at Marks and Spencer, have successfully run 12 “Workshop Wednesdays” for various national sectors across the UK. The sessions have detailed the rationale and benefits of deploying the ProtectUK platform, the ProtectUK app and the ACT Awareness e-Learning in any organisation.

The sessions set out a timeline of key events in the counter terrorism world to establish the ‘why’ behind the creation of these products. Through utilising case studies, they go on to explain the rationale on providing free on-the-go and easily accessible protective security advice and guidance to businesses and the wider public.

Following the development of connections with government departments by the NaCTSO Lead Government Liaison Unit, there has been a particular uptake from local authorities and government bodies in both the “Workshop Wednesday” online sessions as well as deploying the ProtectUK eco-system. There have also been tailored sessions which provided notable exposure into the education, entertainment and health sectors.

Through learnings with our end users, we are developing new “technical Workshop Wednesday” sessions that will focus directly on the organisational deployment of both the ProtectUK app and the ACT Awareness e-Learning across organisations. This will be in the format of either an app enterprise roll out (if your organisation has more than 200 managed devices) or through the deployment of a SCORM e-Learning package into your organisation’s own Learning Management System (LMS). These technical workshops will act as a supplement to our wider workshops, encouraging interaction and engagement with your organisation’s IT and security providers to ensure smooth deployment of these nationally assured products. The sessions will also provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the security testing elements that the ProtectUK eco-system has undertaken to give assurances around the security of these products.

If you have a particular interest in attending one of these sessions in the next financial year, please use the feedback link on this page or email: NaCTSOMailbox-.ProtectUKContentTeam@met.police.uk we will then get in contact with you about the sign up process for future workshops.

We thank all those who have already attended these sessions for their collaboration and those who have already taken steps to deploy ProtectUK and the wider eco-system of products. We look forward to welcoming new organisations into future sessions to add them to our ever-growing network of partners.
